Alternative artist Dijon dropped his debut album ‘Absolutely’ Friday, November 5th. The twelve-track effort spans over thirty-one minutes. Over half of the record is produced by Dijon himself and includes help from fellow artist Mk.Gee as well.

This albums been highly anticipated. Dijon’s been in the know for over three years at this point. He rose to relevancy with songs like ‘Drunk’ and ‘Skin’ but it was always interesting because he had only dropped EP’s up until this point. In the digital streaming age, a lot of artists will try to drop as soon as they can to maintain relevancy, which makes Dijon’s debut album all the more hyped up.

For one, it was definitely worth the wait in my opinion. It’s an interesting listen. On one hand, the overall sound of the record sounds familiar. But, when narrowing it down to a single genre, I personally found myself not being able to put a finger on it. And that’s what’s so cool about it. It pulls from so many different genres from alternative to jazz to country.

Dijon is an artist who definitely seems to be in it for the long haul. And this record provides a timeless sound that’s worth more than one listen.
