KYLE Drops New Album 'It's Not So Bad'

by Jack Shapiro

Rapper/Singer Kyle dropped his brand new album ‘It’s Not So Bad” this past Friday. The project is KYLE’s first independent project in almost 10 years, dating back to Beautiful Loser. The album spans 12 tracks across 32 minutes and includes features from Ivory Scott, Dougie F, and iconic singer Craig David. He also remakes Craig’s hit ‘7 Days’ with the song ‘Sunday’.

KYLE announced he was independent back in June, shortly before the release of the single “Love Me Like You Say You Love Me”. He followed that up with “Optimistic” a few months later in September, which was the first single to be put on the album. Solo singles ‘Sunday’, and ‘Perfect’ followed in October and December, respectfully.

This album is a bit of a change in sound for KYLE, but he pulls it off really well. Most fans know KYLE as more of a rapper, from the smash-hit “iSpy” or fan favorites like “Fruit Snack and Cups of Patron”. This album sees him dig into the singing side of his repertoire, as in fact mostly signing. It’s also more pop-oriented than most of his other albums. There are a lot of groovy cuts on here like “Perfect” and “Cmon” (my favorite), which sounds very Future-Nostalgia to me in the best way.

It’s a feel-good project, which I feel is a bit hard to find these days. So if you need some sunlight, check this project out! I think it’s his most cohesive project to date!

If you like this I encourage you to check out his album Smyle as well. Good vibes there too, with more raps.

Have a good one!
